Desktop Support Specialist with Security Clearance
Job Description Marathon TS is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Specialist to join our government client's teamAs a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for imaging and configuring computers, ensuring seamless operation and troubleshooting secure and non-secure Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systemsYour expertise will also be instrumental in performing touch maintenance for computers, including patching, updates, and upgrades, as well as handling workstation upgrades and installationsAdditionally, you will play a crucial role in applying Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) protocols to new equipment
Responsibilities:
o Create and maintain standardized computer images for deployment across the organization.
o Configure hardware and software components to ensure optimal performance and security.
o Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency.
o Coordinate and schedule VTC sessions for employees, clients, or partners.
o Set up VTC equipment, ensuring secure connections and high-quality video and audio transmission.
o Troubleshoot VTC issues promptly to minimize disruptions during critical meetings.
o Perform regular maintenance tasks on desktop computers to keep them up-to-date and secure.
o Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to operating systems, applications, and drivers.
o Respond to user-reported issues and provide efficient resolutions.
o Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute workstation upgrades and installations.
o Ensure smooth transition and data migration during workstation replacements.
o Provide user training on new hardware and software as needed.
o Implement Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) guidelines on newly acquired equipment to maintain compliance and enhance security.
o Regularly review and update STIG configurations based on evolving security requirements
Qualifications:
o High School Diplomao Interim Secret Clearanceo Proven experience in imaging and configuring computers in an enterprise environment.
o Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting secure and non-secure VTC systems.
o Strong understanding of desktop hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
o Experience with touch maintenance practices, including patching, updates, and upgrades.
o Familiarity with workstation upgrades and installations.
o Knowledge of STIG implementation and cybersecurity best practices is a plus.
o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
