Duties 1In a developmental capacity, serves as a Department of the Air Force Civilian Police Officer performing duties on a variety of fixed and mobile posts and enforces safety regulations as necessary to enforce Federal laws2In a developmental capacity, serves on permanent or rotating shifts at fixed access control points (ACP), or vehicle patrols assigned to a specific area, responsible to ensure security of access to installation, buildings, and areas within the installation, in order to protect critical property3In a developmental capacity, employee assists with investigation of misdemeanor crimes such as recovered property, trespass, illegal dumping, shoplifting, abandoned vehicles, security violations, traffic violations, etc4This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19Requirements Conditions of Employmento U.

o Incumbent must be qualified in the use of required weapons, as the incumbent will be required to use firearms in performing duties.

o Must pass an initial pre-employment medical examination, periodic medical examinations, required physical fitness/physical agility tests, meet established hearing standards and discern colors, contrast, and depth.
o The incumbent must immediately report to his supervisor any significant medical threshold shifts in health status and/or medication requirements.
o Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
o Must wear a uniform and meet applicable dress and appearance standards as identified in current AFI.
o May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, to include nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, rotating shifts, and recall.
o May be required to wear protective clothing such as coats, boots, and vests and/or chemical protective equipment, (e.
grespirator mask).
o Incumbent must be able to operate all Security Forces Vehicles and installed equipmentAn appropriate, a valid driver's license is required for the position.
o Subject to annual duty position evaluation on a pass/fail standard.
o Must pass formal law enforcement training school as determined by functional; certificate from a Federally recognized Law Enforcement Academy is preferred.
o Incumbent will be exposed to the day-to-day dangers associated with law enforcement and security dutiesQualifications Continued from Conditions of Employment:
o Incumbent is required to obtain first responder training/certifications required in CPR techniques, self aid buddy care, and first aid on the job and maintain annually.
o Recurring training is required to keep the incumbent knowledgeable on the updated specialized tactics, techniques and procedures necessary for preparation and response to catastrophic events, terrorist attacks and related threats to installations.
o Ability to employ 'infantry/SWAT' small unit tactics involving fire and maneuver, with rapid advancing movement between defensive positions, while wearing protective gear for extended periods of time, (e.
gEmploying Active Shooter response tactics and techniques as a member of a small team is required).
o This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
o This position may fall under the Standard Premium Pay Provisions under Title 5 USC.
o The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectivelyThis position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve(IAW:

Qualifications:
GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least 6 months of general work experience and 6 months specialized experienceGeneral experience includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgements based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or lawsSpecialized experience includes knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and propertyCreditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skillsNote:
